To make sure your computer or laptop is connected to your private home WiFi network at home, just follow the steps below.
Connect to your home WiFi network or a private network
- Click on the windows icon
in the taskbar of your computer to bring up the window menu and click on Settings.
- Click on Network & Internet in the Settings menu.
- Click on Wi-Fi to see the list of available networks (SSIDs).
- To connect to your private home WiFi network, click on the network name of your private home WiFi network in the menu (usually this will be the network with the strongest signal) and click Connect to connect your computer to the private home WiFi network.
- Wait a few seconds while your computer connects.
- If you have never connected to your private home WiFi network on the Xfinity Wireless Gateway, you’ll need to enter the Network Key that is printed on the label affixed to the bottom of the Wireless Gateway and click Next.
- If you have changed the network key from the original setting, enter that key instead.

- Wait a few seconds while your computer or device connects, and you're done!
Sign in to Xfinity WiFi
- Once you've connected to the xfinitywifi, launch your web browser and you will be taken to the Xfinity WiFi login page.
- Enter your Xfinity ID and password. Click Sign In.
- You can recover your Xfinity ID and password on the Sign In page.
- Message: "Xfinity. Welcome to Xfinity hotspots! Sign in to join this hotspot. Sign in. You'll automatically connect to millions of hotspots nationwide – all included with your plan."
- If you’re an Xfinity Internet customer but don’t have an Xfinity ID, you can create one.
- You're connected.
- Message: "Xfinity. You're connected! Next time, skip the sign in and connect automatically. Try signing in to our secure XFINITY network and automatically connect to Xfinity WiFi hotspots whenever you're in range."
- Continue to Step 5 if you wish to skip the sign in and connect automatically next time.
- Otherwise, you’re all set and can begin to browse the internet.
- Select Windows > Settings > Network and Internet.
- Select Xfinity > Connect.
- Enter your Xfinity ID and password, then select OK.
- When “Connected” appears, you’re done!
- You can close the window and continue to browse the internet.
