Amazon Fire TV FAQs
What do I need to stream programs on the Xfinity Stream app on my Amazon Fire TV?
The Xfinity Stream app is available to all customers with Xfinity service, including Xfinity TV customers and internet customers without Xfinity TV. Features and content vary depending on your services. See the Eligibility section above for more details.
Does streaming using the Xfinity Stream app on Amazon Fire TV count against my internet data usage?
Not if used in the home. The goal of using the Xfinity Stream app is to give you more options outside of our rented TV Boxes to access your full TV service within your home. The service delivered through the Xfinity Stream app when in the home is not an internet service, so our data usage plans don't apply.
However, data usage applies if used out of the home, and when some video services are delivered over the internet, such as TV Everywhere content accessed through the Xfinity Stream app and web portal or content from NBC.com or the NBC and NBC Sports apps. These are treated exactly the same way as any other internet-delivered services like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon and are subject to any data usage plans that might apply.
