Whether you call her Queen Bey, King B, Yoncé or Mrs. Carter, the lady born as Beyoncé Giselle Knowles knows how to get everyone in formation.
This time, her royal highness requests her subjects watch “Lemonade,” her world premiere event debuting Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
And, it isn’t just the Beyhive buzzing about this latest effort. Many have seen the 65-second teaser and are asking, just what the heck is “Lemonade”?
It’s been rumored for a minute that Beyoncé would release a short film à la Michael Jackson. Could this be it? Perhaps.
The “Lemonade” trailer is pretty cryptic (and creepy, depending on you ask), showing a montage of seemingly unrelated scenes such as rolling dark clouds over an empty field, falling raindrops, dancers made up in what looks to be tribal makeup, Beyoncé dressed in a white ball gown looking like a creepy apparition from “Ghost Brothers” and much more. Oh, and I spied Canadian model Winnie Harlow, who made headlines for getting lots of gigs despite having vitiligo, and possibly Blue Ivy among the several shots.
The one image consistent throughout the teaser? Beyoncé wearing a light-colored fur coat that seems to match her blond cornrowed hair while leaning on what “E! News Now” describes as a “sweet ride.” Since blond equals yellow, and we also see her walking down the sidewalk in a yellow dress waving a bat with yellow flames exploding in the background, maybe that’s where the “Lemonade” comes from? OK, I’m kidding! But, the streets are talking yet no one can verifiably state what “Lemonade” is. Nor can anyone confirm whether her highly-anticipated sixth studio album is linked to this premiere event and will drop over the next week since her “Formation” tour kicks off on April 27. The surprise release of Beyoncé’s “Formation” video the night before she performed the song at the Super Bowl two months ago hasn’t garnered anything more than a ton of buzz and sold-out “Formation” concert tour dates.

If you want to know what Beyoncé meant when we heard her say the following in the “Lemonade” teaser —
“The past and the present merge to meet us here…”
"What are you hiding?" ("Lover" is whispered in the background.)
“Why can’t you see me?”
“The love of my life.”
“What am I doing, my love?”
“Pull me in, pull me in, pull me in…”
- I suggest you do like everyone else and just watch "Lemonade" this Saturday. Be sure to bring your castor oil though, as I am sure edges will be snatched. This much is guaranteed.
"Lemonade" debuts Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Be there or be square!
