Ready for the upcoming third season of Showtime’s drama, “Penny Dreadful?”
New episodes won’t pop up on the pay cabler until next year but we’ve got a look at Eva Green’s deeply troubled Vanessa Ives appearing to be in a straight jacket of sorts and being comforted by her alienist, Dr. Seward, played by Broadway star, Patti LuPone.
You'll remember that LuPone's character last season, the Cut-Wife, met her end in the course of her appearance but LuPone is back in this new role as an American therapist who tries to help Vanessa with her battling of evil forces. Dr. Seward's methods are unconventional but for an unconventional show like this, she'll fit right in!
The series, created by out writer/producer/director John Logan, also stars Timothy Dalton, Harry Treadway, Rory Kinnear and Billie Piper. Also, for the LGBT audiences, Reeve Carney’s Dorian Grey has been involved with men, women and, last season, a transgender woman. He even had a tryst (fueled by absinthe) with Josh Hartnett’s Ethan that hasn’t developed further but you never know in this universe. The series also features Simon Russell Beale as the flamboyant Ferdinand Lyle.
Let’s hope for a premiere date soon for this addictive series. In the meantime, the first two seasons are available to binge right here on XFINITY.
