In this week’s episode, “Miracle on Dead Street,” the Huang family—despite protests from mother Jessica Huang (Constance Wu)—decides to celebrate Halloween in style.
“Fresh Off the Boat,” loosely based on the memoir by chef Eddie Huang, takes place in the 1990s as his family moves to a mostly-Caucasian neighborhood in Orlando. In its first season, the family struggles to fit in. This season, Louis (Randall Park) has found some success running his restaurant Cattleman’s Ranch, Jessica has found her calling as a realtor and the boys (Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler and Ian Chen) are finding friends at school.
The Halloween episode’s synopsis, according to ABC: “It’s the Huangs’ first Halloween in the suburbs and Louis is determined to turn their ‘dead’ street into a prime destination for trick-or-treaters. And as Louis, Eddie, Emery, Evan and even Grandma Huang show off their elaborate costumes, Jessica has bigger plans—to protect her investment property from teenage pranksters.”
