How cute are Flex and Shanice?

I had a chance to chat with ‘90s pop singer Shanice Wilson and her husband, actor and comedian Flex Alexander, last weekend during the Essence Festival in New Orleans (video proof of this convo is coming soon) and they really are adorable. I met them three years ago at an album listening party singer India.Arie hosted and they were just as cute then.

This time around, they spoke with me about their docu-series “Flex & Shanice,” which returns for a second season Saturday on OWN, as well as how they’re working to attain the wealth and status they once had.

Now, if you watched the first season of “Flex & Shanice,” then you got an intimate look into the highs and lows they experienced while trying to get back on top (or least close to it).

Missed the first season? Here’s a quick rundown.

While “Flex & Shanice” is a good title, “Full House” may have been more appropriate because that’s how this Hollywood couple is living. In addition to Flex, Shanice and their two children, Imani, 13, and Elijah, 11, Shanice’s mother, Crystal, and her stepdad Mike, plus her uncle Spirit, her cousin Ruba, and Flex’s cousin Ed live with them.

Yes, you read correctly, nine people under one roof and all with interesting and/ or strong personalities. So, you know the risk of butting heads is high. And it happened, especially between Shanice and Crystal, who was her manager for years. After Shanice met with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and other music industry heavyweights she worked with previously, it was revealed that Crystal played a big role in Shanice’s career halt. Those of us who remember Shanice’s hit song “I Love Your Smile” and her vocal chops, were left scratching our heads when she didn’t blow up. Now, we know. Shanice ended up firing her mom, and tension ensued, though they still have a respectable relationship.

The season 2 opener picks up with the current status of this mother-daughter relationship as well as the business ventures Shanice, Flex and Ruba are working on. Plus, Flex is keeping a secret from Shanice. How will she take it when it's revealed? You have to tune in to OWN at 10 p.m. ET Saturday to find out.

In the meantime, take a look at the promo below.

“Flex & Shanice” isn’t the only thing OWN has going on this weekend. Evelyn Lozada’s new docu-series “Livin’ Lozada” debuts, too.

If Evelyn’s story isn’t a come up one, then I don’t know what is. And, I’m not just talking about the fact that she’s engaged to and had a son with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford.

She went from being a “thug among women” (Iyanla Vanzant’s words) on VH1’s reality show “Basketball Wives,” having a short-lived tumultuous marriage to ex-NFLer Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, the memorable appearances she made on OWN’s “Iyanla: Fix My Life” and basically hitting rock bottom to having “a new life and a new perspective.” Good for you, Ev.

“I’m engaged to an amazing man, but, I need to put my past to rest,” Evelyn says her show’s promo video.

Along with letting the past go, we’ll see her juggle relationships with her 1-year-old son, Carl Jr., her fiancé and 21-year-old Shaniece (the show will focus a bit on her life, too).

Hmm, this should be good. I definitely will tune in and keep you posted.

It airs at 9 p.m. ET on OWN. Will you watch? Check out the sneak peek below.
