‘DWTS’ Power Rankings Week 10 – The Season 20 Finals

It’s all come down to this.

After saying farewell to Nastia Liukin and her pro partner Derek Hough last week, three final couples are left to vie for the coveted Gold Mirrorball Trophy in the finals of “Dancing with the Stars” season 20.

Tonight, Noah Galloway, Riker Lynch and Rumer Willis will perform two full routines for the judges. First, the stars and their pro partners will repeat one of their dances from earlier in the season. Then, they will perform an elaborate freestyle routine complete with special effects, troupe dancers and much more. But that’s not all – as part of the “24-Hour Fusion Challenge,” each couple will be forced to combine two contrasting dance styles and choreograph a routine in less than 24 hours. That dance will be performed on Tuesday night for one last shot at judges’ points before the winner is announced.

Below are the final predictions and rankings from XFINITY.com editors Chelsea Badeau and David Onda, who have teamed up with #DWTSAllAccess host and former “Strictly Come Dancing” contestant Gethin Jones for a weekly dissection of the competition.

How Does It Work? For this final week of the competition, Chelsea, David and Gethin have made pre-performance predictions on how each couple will finish the competition. For correctly predicting the winner of season 20, they will score five points. If they correctly predict the third-, second- and first-place order exactly, they will earn an additional bonus of 10 points.

Chelsea leads the rankings with a total of 61 points, David is in second place with a total of 59 points, and Gethin leaps to a close third-place total of 55 points. It’s still anybody’s game… except for David. He has no chance of winning.

Here are the final power rankings for Week 10:

Chelsea’s Score = 61

1st. Rumer Willis & Valentin Chmerkovskiy: And then there were three. Early on in the season, Rumer began to emerge from the pack as a leader, then she had a midseason slump, but now she’s back to hitting home runs. Last week, Rumer and Val really stood out with their “50 Shades of Grey” Viennese waltz – which managed to be sexy, yet not raunchy – and their majestic, Bruno-directed “Swan Lake” contemporary fusion ballet piece. The lifts were stunning, and she truly was a vision in white. I’m crazy about Rumer, too, Bruno. I think we all are. She’s vulnerable, she’s graceful, she puts all of herself into her performances every week and, to top it all off, she is a supremely talented dancer. She deserves to win. I’m #TeamValenRue all the way. 1st. Rumer Willis & Valentin Chmerkovskiy: Prior to Week 1 performances, Chelsea, Gethin and I all picked Nastia Liukin to win it all… so, that didn’t quite pan out. But just one week later, the three of us unanimously chose Rumer Willis as our favorite, and she’s been topping the predictions ever since. Consistency is the key for Rumer, and despite a couple stumbles (Disney Week, “Bootylicious”), she has been the star to watch every week. It’s all about confidence, strength and the will to get better, and Rumer has that in spades. Why will Rumer and Val win? First, she’s arguably the most famous star remaining in the competition. Second, I think she and Val will be most successful in the 24-hour challenge. And, finally, I think Rumer’s cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” – to which she and Val will be dancing their freestyle – will help set them apart from the competition (perhaps unfairly). 1st. Rumer Willis & Valentin Chmerkovskiy:  I’ve been sitting, looking at my laptop, trying to decide between two couples. As soon as I type this, I’m gonna think it’s the other. That’s how close I think it is. In fact, between all three. And the stats prove it. This is the first season ever that the last four couples have alternated at the top after the judges’ scores and the public vote. Nastia could easily be dancing in the final. I felt the momentum would be with Noah and Sharna, based on the paso dance and, of course, the proposal. But my gut, right now, says #TeamValenRue for the Golden Glitter Ball!
2nd. Riker Lynch & Allison Holker:  Charisma? This guy’s got it in boatloads. He has an energy that is hard to define, but is palpable every time he steps onto the dance floor. Riker is remarkably agile and, every week, his quick feet make my head spin. Just like his mom, I often rewind his performances to watch again as they just seem to fly by. He also has the personality to match his talent on the dance floor. Allison is truly in her element with contemporary and their number last week brought Riker up to a whole new level both artistically and athletically. He has the most range in the competition, and I am glad to see him in the finals. 2nd. Riker Lynch & Allison Holker: I love them so much. And I want them to win. But I just don’t think it’s in the cards for them this season. What’s working in their favor? Well, we don’t know much about tonight’s dance routines, but we do know that Riker will be reprising his Captain Jack Sparrow impersonation from Disney Week for one of his two dances – and that routine was epic. Riker is the male version of Rumer. His dance moves are fiery, fast and executed with confidence every single week. Simply put – he is exciting to watch. And like Rumer with Val, Riker has undeniable chemistry with Allison Holker. They are a treat to watch during #DWTSAllAccess rehearsals, and I’ve always marveled at how the mumbly rocker we see behind the scenes churns out such dazzling performances every Monday night. If Riker Lynch had a bigger fan base, better name recognition or world-famous stars for parents, he would be winning the trophy this year. 2nd. Noah Galloway & Sharna Burgess: He said himself that he didn’t think he’d make it to Week 4, and here he is in the final of “DWTS.” I’ve said it before, and I’m happy to say it again: It’s been a privilege to watch him improve, grow in confidence and chat to him every week. Always a gentleman (apart from when farting on Sharna’s leg), has time for everyone and gives it his all. Sharna has worked out of her skin to make all of this happen – truly impressive stuff. Whatever happens, they should and will be super proud. They have some amazing things planned, as always, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the hero at work.

3rd. Noah Galloway & Sharna Burgess: There’s been a lot of chatter on social media this past week about Noah essentially “stealing” Nastia’s spot in the finals. I say hogwash! This competition (this TV show) is meant to be about entertainment and growth over the course of the season. Noah has never failed to entertain and has grown leaps and bounds beyond any other contestant. He obviously got the votes to put him in the finals and, at the end of the day, the show is crowning America’s favorite dancer, not necessarily the celebrity with the best dance ability. He looks like he’s enjoying himself, and I look forward to seeing what he and Sharna deliver tonight. Kick butt, Noah! 3rd. Noah Galloway & Sharna Burgess: Win, lose or draw, no one in this competition has made more of an impact than Noah Galloway. He might not have been a “star” (in the traditional sense) when he started “Dancing with the Stars,” but this show has made him into one. Could Noah win this competition? Absolutely. How could I say any differently? He’s defied all odds by making it this far in the completion. He’s captured the hearts of America with his strength and courage, made the ballroom sob as he dropped to one knee and proposed to his girlfriend and redefined “dance” with the innovative choreography of Sharna Burgess. What will it take to turn the tied in their favor? Well, this is Sharna’s very first freestyle routine on “DWTS,” and if there’s anyone the freestyle benefits, it’s Noah.  If either Riker or Rumer stumble – however unlikely that may be – Noah could pull off the biggest upset in show history. 3rd. Riker Lynch & Allison Holker: They came out of the blocks from Week 1 and have kept a remarkable level of consistency. He has the following, and the ever-presence of Allison’s amazing energy to work off. Jack Sparrow is back, and I’ve never seen a man so happy as him in costume! Two 10s and two nines last time out – if that doesn’t change to a perfect score, then I should never be writing a dance blog again! He could still win this, and I could be completely wrong! I’ve gotten to know all the couples really well, I’d be happy for all of them to take the trophy.

Check out Gethin Jones live tonight on #DWTSAllAccess on abc.com starting at 8:00 p.m. ET. Gethin and his co-host will be interviewing the stars, couples and many more guests, as well as providing live commentary throughout the show.
