If you saw the photos from the GLAAD Media Awards posted over the weekend, you know that it was a star-studded event at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
But besides the star power, the message was clear in that there is still much work to be done to bring the LGBT community not only into the realm of equality but also safety and acceptance. As GLAAD CEO/President Sarah Kate Ellis said in her speech during the event, there is still work to be done.
Before the event, I was stationed on the red carpet and grabbed time with many of the attendees and some of GLAAD’s staff to talk about the past year and what we’re looking forward to.
