You know the kind of movie that sticks with you for days? Months? Maybe forever? I think it’s safe to say that this year’s “The Normal Heart” is one of those movies.

The HBO production of the renowned Larry Kramer play was directed by Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story” “Glee) and had one of the best assembled casts this year. Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons, Taylor Kitsch, Julia Roberts, Jonathan Groff, Joe Mantello and Alfred Molina brought the film to life and hit every beat just right to make this film one fo the best of 2014.

Once the movie aired in May, the accolades poured in with Critics Choice Nominations (wins for Best Movie and Bomer for Best Supporting Actor) and Emmy Award nominations (win for Outstanding Television Movie). The Golden Globesair January 11th and the film is up for Best Miniseries/Television Film, Best Actor for Ruffalo and Best Supporting Actor for Bomer. They should all win.

As I posted here recently in recounting the standout actors of the year, Bomer’s performance was perfect in his role of Felix and in this clip from “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” he talked about the weight loss he endured during filming.
