A few shows are on winter break but there's still plenty to watch including "Hello Beautiful Interludes Live: Ledisi" and "The Walking Dead's" midseason finale. Plus, there's what's hot (Jessye Norman on "Late Show with David Letterman") and not (the Ferguson grand jury's decision).
What goes around, comes around!
And because Iyanla Vanzant is constantly on hand to “Fix” other people’s lives, Oprah Winfrey decided it was time to return the favor. Oprah surprised the spiritual life coach with a “spectacular, one-of-a-kind complete home makeover,” led by none other than interior designer Nate Berkus.
"Your home should be the thing that rises up to meet you," Oprah told an emotional Iyanla on the phone. I agree sis, I agree.
Iyanla has been through her share of hell during her lifetime. More recently, she experienced a divorce, the loss of her daughter and lost her home to foreclosure. Her luck started to change nearly four years ago when she reconnected with Oprah, which led to her hosting her OWN show, “Iyanla: Fix My Life.” (The intro to “Fix My Life” briefly summarizes her triumphant story.). Fortunately for Iyanla, she was able to purchase a new house in Maryland but it needed work and “a floor-to-ceiling overhaul to fix some pretty major design challenges,” an OWN press release stated.
The surprise transformation will air on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET during the special “Oprah Prime: Iyanla, I’ll Fix Your House.” Check out the clip below.

“The View.” KeKe Palmer, current star of Broadway’s “Cinderella,” guest co-hosts today. It airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
“Gotham.” The midseason finale airs, which means I’ll have a few weeks to catch up on this show. It airs at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
“Sleepy Hollow.” So, the Mills sisters’ (Abby and Jenny) mother returns–as a ghost! Yeah, I have to catch up on this show to get to the bottom of this. It airs at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
“K. Michelle: My Life.” The more I watch this show, the stronger my like for K. Michelle, a former “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star, grows. Gotta love a girl who’s about turning her life around for the better. It airs at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
“State of Affairs.” I watched the premiere last week and will tune in again to see Alfre Woodard as President Constance Payton alongside Katherine Heigl in this new series. It airs at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
“NCIS: New Orleans.” I still have this on my to-watch list. It airs at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
“Friends of the People.” I’m still keeping up with this new sketch comedy show. It airs at 10 p.m. ET on tru TV.
“Hollywood Divas.” OK, I’ve caught up with this show and all I can say is wowza! These ladies are something. It airs at 10 p.m. ET on TV One.
“The View.” This a rebroadcast of the Nov. 13 show celebrating co-host Whoopi Goldberg’s birthday with performances from Patti LaBelle and Vintage Trouble. It airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
Jimmy Kimmel Live.” This a rebroadcast of last Wednesday’s show featuring Jamie Foxx and Tracee Ellis Ross. I missed this because I was at the Ebony Power 100 gala but will tune in this time. As I said before, it would be kind of cool to see both of these funny people share the couch with Jimmy. It airs weekdays at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
“Grimm.” We’ll find out exactly what role Juliette will play in helping Nick to get his Grimm power back. Wonder if his power will be restored by the end of the episode? It airs at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
“Hello Beautiful Interludes Live: Ledisi.” This is one concert you definitely want to check out! Ledisi did her thing in Philly last month and I guarantee you will feel the love. It airs at 10 p.m. ET on TV One.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The first three episodes have gotten off to an interesting start with Apollo Nida’s admission that he lied about Kenya Moore’s attempts to pursue him (who does that, man?!). Let’s see what happens this week. It airs at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
“The Walking Dead.” The midseason finale airs and I have that ol’ feeling that someone’s going to meet their end. Who will it be? It airs at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
The Hot List: Who/What’s Hot, Not
HOT: The legendary Jessye Norman performing “Midnight Special” on “Late Show with David Letterman” (She still has it!).
NOT: The Ferguson, Mo. grand jury’s decision that there wasn’t enough probable cause to indict police Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown (At the very least, it seems that there was enough evidence for a trial to take place.).
HOT: Selah Marley, the 16-year-old lovely daughter of Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley (She’s a lovely young lady!)
NOT: The ongoing drama between Halle Berry and her daughter’s father, Gabriel Aubry (Let’s hope there isn’t a repeat of the Thanksgiving 2012 events!).
