After an exciting week at the Alma Awards (wrap-up coming soon!), I’m happy to be back home and ready to get caught up with all my favorite TV shows. There’s also one very important show on my radar tonight: “Jane the Virgin” premiering on the CW at 9pm.

The sweet freshman series stars Gina Rodriguez in the role of Jane, a religious young Latina who accidentally becomes pregnant after her gynecologist inseminates her during a routine visit. Jane, who is the result of a teenage pregnancy, lives with her mom Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and grandmother Alba (Ivonne Coll).

The cast will be live tweeting during the premiere, follow them as follows:

I am so excited about the “Jane” premiere, I skipped “Gotham” at 8pm on FOX. In the episode entitled, “Arkham,” we’ll finally see what Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) has to say to detective Gordon (Ben McKenzie) after knocking on his apartment door. Gordon told him to disappear, so you can imagine how upset he’ll be with the unexpected visit.

At 10pm I’ll be switching over to NBC for an all new episode of, “The Blacklist.” Tonight, Nonviolent citizens become killers, prompting Red (James Spader) to suspect that a deadly psychological experiment has been put in motion. Meanwhile, Red offers a complicated proposition. Mary-Louise Parker and Paul Reubens guest star.

Get to know Gina Rodriguez a bit better by seeing her recent visit to “The Late Show with David Letterman” below:
