Fall TV LGBT Characters (New): In case you missed it, I posted a listing of the LGBT characters we’ll be seeing this fall in such new offerings as “The Flash,” “Red Band Society“ and more. Check it out here and keep checking back as I’ll have a similar list soon for all the returning shows.
DVR Alert: Barbra Streisand is on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” tonight. Gay gasp!! (11:35pm on NBC)
More Gay Weddings: Last week we had coverage of the marriage between Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka and now we can add Cheyenne Jackson and Jason Landau, who were married this past weekend with about 200 guests attending including Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jane Lynch. Very happy for both newlywed couples!
“Faking It:” The MTV series is back for season 2 on September 23rd and, well, I’m excited! And in getting a peek at the season premiere I can tell you that there’s no sophomore slump here. No spoilers but the action picks up the morning after the season finale when drunk Liam and Amy end up sleeping together. I’ll be on the show’s set this week so keep an eye out for interviews early next week!
DVR Alert #2: Just mark your calendars that “Red Band Society” premieres on Wednesday at 8pm on Fox. I’ll have a review of the first episode tomorrow right here so be sure to check back. Besides stars Octavia Spencer and Dave Annable, the show also features a fave of mine, Wilson Cruz.
“Late Night With David Letterman:” I’ve been away of the fabulously funny Billy Eichner for awhile now but I’m so excited that the rest of the world is finally catching up. I talked to Billy earlier this year about his man-on-the-street series, “Funny Or Die’s Billy On The Street” but while he’ll be back on the final season of “Parks and Recreation” this fall, his appearance on the Emmys last month definitely made an impression. Eichner made his first appearance with Letterman and shared some stories about his friendship with the late, great Joan Rivers as well as playing some games with Dave.
Dan Bucatinsky: The busy actor/writer/producer won’t be back on “Scandal” this fall since his character was killed off but he’s busy in front of the camera on “Marry Me” and “The Comeback” as well as his Exec Producer duties on Showtime’s “Web Therapy.” Last week at a SAG Foundation panel, Bucatinsky gave a speech at the LGBT in Entertainment Town Hall about his own coming out journey in Hollywood. Check out his speech here:
Weekly Beefcake: If you haven’t noticed TheBacklot’s fabulous weekly wrap-up of all the hunky men we’re seeing on our television, then it’s my duty as a hard-hitting journalist to fill you in. Every Saturday, the site’s Lyle Masaki gives us the tireless task of showing photos and video of our hottest men in everything from scripted fare like “Teen Wolf” to reality hunks in shows like “American Ninja Warrior.” You can thank me later!
