With a new female coach and a new home at Universal Studios Orlando, Telemundo is gearing up to premiere season two of “La Voz Kids” Sunday, March 16th at 8pm. Spanish singer Natalia Jiménez, who is replacing Paulina Rubio, will sit alongside Roberto Tapia and reigning champion Prince Royce in the search for one winner to be crowned during the season finale.

For those of you new to the reality competition show, young vocalists between the ages of seven and fifteen will battle it out during three phases: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Live Shows. During the blind auditions, the celebrity Coaches will listen to, but do not view each performance, much like their American counterpart, “The Voice.” If impressed by a contestant’s voice, the Coach presses a button and his/her chair turns to reveal their team selection. If more than one Coach presses their button, the power then shifts to the contestant, who then chooses a Coach to work with. If none of the Coaches press their button, the contestant is eliminated from the competition.

Once each Coach chooses 18 contestants, their team is set, and the battle round begins. Coaches dedicate themselves to developing each contestant, and with the help of acclaimed musical guest mentors, will give advice and share success secrets. Six groups of three contestants, per Coach, compete in each battle by singing the same song together in front of a studio audience. Two of the three contestants are eliminated from each battle, leaving 18 total finalists for the live shows.

During the final performance phase of the competition, each week, the top contestants from each team compete against each other. The television audience and the Coaches decide who remains in the competition. In the end, the winner is determined by the most viewing audience votes, and wins a recording contract and a cash prize to support their education.
