Lupita Nyong’o & Stylist Cover ‘THR,’ Possible Kevin Hart & Jamie Foxx Flick, OWN’s ‘The Haves and the Have Nots’ Sets Record & More

It’s the middle of the week and plenty’s happening including an opportunity to meet the lady behind Lupita Nyong’o’s great looks, Jamie Foxx and Kevin Hart possibly doing a movie with the “Ride Along” team plus OWN’s sharing some great news. Need a laugh? Check out my “Hump Day Humor” selection here.

Lupita Nyong’o’s stylist is everything. We all know that Lupita Nyong’o is a bad chick. But you know who makes her the baddest on the red carpet? Her very gifted stylist Micaela Erlanger. If you’ve been eyeballing Lupita’s appearances then you know exactly why Micaela deserves this shout out and why she, Lupita and her other client,“Downton Abbey’sMichelle Dockery, cover The Hollywood Reporter’s “25 Most Powerful Stylists” issue. While Lupita’s beauty, charm and thespian talents may have contributed to her Oscar win, Micaela’s eye helped skyrocket her popularity. It only makes sense that they’re on the cover. And yes, they look lovely. Check it out here.

Jamie Foxx and Kevin Hart team for new flick. Kevin Hart’s definitely taking my mother’s advice: Riding that success train while it lasts. This time the “Ride Along” and “About Last Night” actor may team with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx for “Black Phantom.” And guess what? “Ride Along” director Tim Story and producer Will Packer are working on this project, too. “Story follows a double-crossed mob hitman who enlists the help of the Black Phantom, the same African-American hitman who had been sent to kill him,” according to Variety. Hmm, sounds interesting. Sure it would be box office gold for all involved. Read more here.

OWN’s “The Haves and the Have Nots” finale sets a record. Oprah Winfrey has reason to serve a lot of people crow. The season two finale of “Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots” set a network record Tuesday with 3.6 million total viewers, marking its spot as the No. 1 telecast in OWN history among total viewers. It was just a couple of years ago that people were questioning whether Oprah had bitten off more than she could chew with OWN and if the network would be a failure (she may have questioned this, too). But a little show called “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” and her good friend Tyler Perry helped change that. Catch up on “The Haves and the Have Nots” with XFINITY On Demand™ here. (SIDEBAR: I just had a total flashback moment. “The Haves and the Have Nots” reminds me of a nighttime soap opera from my childhood called, “Dangerous Women”!)

The Hot List: Who/What’s Hot, Not
HOT: The Queens Girl Scout who sold more than 2,000 boxes of cookies. (As a former Girl Scout, I think this is great!)
NOT: Bill Cosby professing that they’ll never be a “The Cosby Show” reunion. (Boo!)

HOT:“Attack the Block” star John Boyega being considered for a lead Jedi part in upcoming “Star Wars” film. (I liked this kid in “Attack the Block” and am glad he’s being considered.)
NOT: The massive gas explosion that took place today in Harlem resulting in numerous fatalities and dozens of injured. (My condolences to those who lost loved ones.)
