MTV appears to have cancelled “Teen Mom 3,” although the end of the spinoff does not mean the entire “Teen Mom” series is coming to an end.

The demise of “Teen Mom 3” — the second spinoff of the original “Teen Mom” series — is being reported here on TV

The story is based on Tweets apparently posted by some of the show’s participants over the weekend. “Teen Mom 3 was one of the best experiences I ever had! I will never forget it!” read one tweet, from participant Briana DeJesus, TV Guide said.

In a later tweet, she said, “Time to move on from MTV and do bigger and better things & no I don’t mean become a porn star lol.”

“Yes no more teen mom 3,” tweeted another participant, Alexandria Sekella. “Guess we weren’t enough of train wrecks for it to be interesting. America wants to watch crazies oh well #relieved.”

And yet another, Katie Yeager, had this to say, on Twitter: “I’m grateful for this experience. [Baby] Molli and I are ready to move on from this and live a normal life. Thanks for all the love and support.”

The TV Guide story points out that “Teen Mom 3” never measured up to the ratings for “Teen Mom 2.” As it happens, “Teen Mom 2” is set to begin a new season next month, which means the “Teen Mom” franchise will continue.

“Teen Mom 3” ran for one season, consisting of 15 episodes.

There was no immediate response to an e-mail from XfinityTV seeking comment or confirmation on the “Teen Mom 3” cancellation from MTV.
