Fox’s Tuesday comedy block is getting a midseason makeover, with “Glee” moving over from Thursday and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” getting a promotion behind “New Girl.”

The net on Thursday also announced other midseason sked changes, including relaunching “The Following” as a two-night event, similar to the way it recently introduced “Almost Human.”

“Following,” last season’s top-rated new series in adults 18-49, will kick off its second season at about 10 p.m. ET on Jan. 19, following Fox Sports’ coverage of the NFC Championship Game. The Kevin Bacon drama will then slide into its regular Monday 9 p.m. timeslot the next day.

Fox had originally planned for new Greg Kinnear drama “Rake” to air behind the NFC title game, but ultimately decided it was better suited to premiere behind “American Idol,” while the male skew of football will help reintroduce audiences to the serial-killer drama “The Following.”

“Rake” will now air its first episode on Thursday, Jan. 23, following “American Idol.”

As for Tuesday, a night on which Fox has really struggled this fall with its comedy four-pack, "Glee" returns to its former night and will lead things off; the comedy musical had originally been set to return in the spring on Thursdays after "Rake" wrapped. The return of "Glee" to Tuesday should help funnel a stronger lead-in to "New Girl," which will be followed by "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" starting Feb. 4.

Fox is placing a big bet on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” having earlier announced that the Andy Samberg-Andre Braugher comedy would air alongside “New Girl” following the net’s coverage of the Super Bowl on Feb. 2. So, “New Girl” and “Brooklyn” will now not only air after the big game, but will continue to air in tandem starting two nights later.

Dads,” which has been airing at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, will wrap in February, but may appear at a later time. “The Mindy Project,” which has been airing behind “New Girl” on Tuesday, will take a rest following its Jan. 28 winter finale and then return to Tuesdays with a one-hour episode on April 1. After that, it will air once again behind “New Girl.”
