Norma struggles with extreme jealousy, especially when it comes to her favorite son Norman, and she has a more tumultuous relationship with her son Dylan (Max Thieriot), Norman’s older half-brother.

The Moms of “Dance Moms

Why We Love Them: These ladies bring a whole new meaning to the term “stage mom.” While they may seem a little too tough on their young daughters at times, it is evident that they just want the best for them. And to win.

Violet Crawley from “Downton Abbey

Series: “Downton Abbey,” a British period drama centered around the aristocratic Crawley family and the staff that maintains their massive Yorkshire estate.

Why We Love Her: Maggie Smith‘s Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham, is set in her ways and has difficulty accepting change but is always there to support her family. At first glance, she appears to be a bit of a snob, but time shows that she is both compassionate and loving.

Lois Griffin from “Family Guy

Series: “Family Guy” follows the animated antics of the constantly grousing Griffins, a family that puts some fun in dysfunctional.

Why We Love Her: Lois, voiced by Alex Borstein, is constantly tasked with correcting the wrongs of her dim-witted husband Peter. She is a loving mom to teens Meg and Chris and sassy baby Stewie. Not to mention caring for Brian, the talking dog.
