‘Franklin & Bash’ Cast Pick Their Favorite TV Shows

Franklin & Bash (TNT)

TNT’s legal series “Franklin & Bash” returns to the courtroom for a second season on Tuesday, June 5 with Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer reprising their respective roles as Peter Bash and Jared Franklin — two former street lawyers who in season one changed their lives by joining a high-stakes law firm.

Early on in season two, they up the ante even more by become equity partners in the prestigious firm, which creates a whole lot of responsibility they haven’t had to deal with in the past — and creates conflict between the best friends.

"The battle is how do you make rain and sign these giant corporate clients when at the same time these were the guys you were fighting against?" Meyer says, explaining the dilemma for season two. "How do you embrace them and defend them when you have been fighting them your entire career as Franklin & Bash in their out-of-the-house law firm."

According to Goselaar, it is more difficult for Franklin than Bash to adjust to their new career style. He sees it as Bash being more willing to grow up: "In the very first episode, Bash turns to Franklin and says, 'We've got to do something. We can make this leap into making more money and more stability,' but there is also more contention as to the feeling of whether or not they are selling out."

Season two of “Franklin & Bash,” premiering Tuesday, June 5 at 10/9c on TNT, will also feature a great list of guest stars, including Kevin Nealon, Martin Mull, Cybill Shepherd, Jane Seymour, Beau Bridges, Shiri Appleby, Seth Green, Eric Mabius, Rick Fox, Sean Astin and Peter Weller, to name a few.

So what do these TV lawyers watch when not working - series about other attorneys? Not by a long shot. Check out what they do tune in to:

Breckin Meyer: I loved “The Office” because Steve Carell is just a genius. “The Walking Dead” because it is just awesome and terrifying. “Shameless” because it is do damn good. There are so many good shows — and anything Aaron Sorkin does. Watch full episodes of “Shameless” on XfinityTV.com.

Mark-Paul Goselaar: We have to watch “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.” I love “Chopped” and “Iron Chef.” I am addicted to shit like that. Also, “Hoarders” and “My Strange Addiction.” Watch full episodes of “Hoarders” on XfinityTV.com.

Malcolm McDowell (Stanton Infeld, the head of the law firm) : My favorite was “Friday Night Lights.” I don’t think I missed one of those. I loved it. I thought it was brilliantly done. I don’t like football at all, but it had nothing to do with football. I thought it was terrific about small-town America with some great performances. I very much loved “Six Feet Under” because it is my sort of humor. The idea of doing a show about undertakers. It is just insane. Love that. “Damages.” I like that. There are quite a few great things right now, especially on cable. And I think “Modern Family” is the best comedy. I don’t watch much television because I watch soccer from England and the news.
