Oscar winner Susan Sarandon apparently isn’t afraid of “The Big C.”
The Showtime series, starring Laura Linney as a woman diagnosed with cancer who vows to live her days to the fullest, has booked Sarandon for a multi-episode “major arc” in the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will play Joy, a cancer survivor who now uses her experience to inspire others. She will make Linney’s character question whether she’s doing enough with her own experience.
Sarandon has a well-documented history in television, which includes the likes of “Friends,” “ER,” “30 Rock” and “Rescue Me.” According to the article, she will join Victor Garber as guests stars lined up for season three of the series, which returns to Showtime on Sunday, April 8.
