"Cougar Town is back. Valentine's day. Big show changing episode. Stay in, watch, and I'll send you a bottle of wine," Lawrence wrote. He then tweeted that he was serious about the wine offer, and he's lining up sponsors to accomplish it.
When Lawrence and his co-creator, Kevin Biegel, saw that ABC wasn’t giving the Courteney Cox-starring show a midseason premiere date, as well as the fact that the episode order was cut from 22 to 15, they decided they needed to do something on their own to make sure people were still aware the show existed. So they set up viewing parties in late December that included stars and writers from the show. Those parties will continue into February, with fans getting a sneak peek at the big events of the show’s season premiere and beyond.
And, since we’ve seen the season premiere, we can confirm what Lawrence said in his tweet about the episode being “show changing.”
Lawrence didn’t announce the timeslot for the show, but we’re pretty sure it’ll be on at 8:30 pm Eastern, in the post-“Last Man Standing” slot that was vacated by the cancelled cross-dressing disaster “Work It.” Yes, it doesn’t feel like a great match, but we think anyone would take a timeslot behind Tim Allen, especially because the other choice is to not be on the air at all.
