NBC is heading back to the jungle, announcing that the network will bring back the summer’s steamy jungle-dating show “Love in the Wild” for a second season.

Last year’s winning tandem Samantha Woods and Mike Spiro as well as the runner-up couple, Heather Pond and Miles Haefner, all still dating, according to the network. Those connections helped deliver NBC with an average of 5.5 million viewers during the first season of the show, where it came in first, or tied for first, in the coveted 18-49 demographic for all but one of the show’s eight airings.

"The success of the relationships formed on the first season of this series is a testament to the unique format of this show," said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. "We look forward to an even more compelling season as the series will return with new format twists and a new set of contestants who will conquer the wild - or not - to find love."

The series tests relationships by placing single men and women looking for love on physical and emotional quests in a tropical paradise. During elimination each of the couples reveals whether the pairs made a connection or if they would like to switch and get to know someone else. Of course, at the end of every episode, two singles are sent packing. The show's winning couple scored a first-class trip around the world.
