Lauren Graham and Peter Krause, costars of NBC’s ‘Parenthood,’ have chemistry in real life – they just hope it doesn’t come across too much on-screen.
The actors play siblings; they’re also dating.
In the October issue of Redbook, Graham, 43, talks about dating her costar, after they first got to know each other 15 years ago. She and Krause, 45, “clearly had a connection” back then, but timing and shyness kept them from getting together, Graham says.
"I think we liked each other [but] he asked me over to his house to play a board game - and that's exactly what we ended up doing," she says. "So I was like, 'This guy doesn't like me. Who actually plays a board game?' … The timing wasn't right. I don't think either of us was ready."
Now, they see each other every day at work. “One of the things that’s been so fun is that it’s so easy,” the former ‘Gilmore Girl‘ tells the magazine. “It’s a lot, to work with somebody and spend time with them, too.”
The couple managed to keep their relationship out of the press by staying home. "I've also been really protective of it, because it's important that you can buy us as brother and sister on the show," she said.
Graham and Krause aren’t the first on-screen siblings to strike up a romance; ‘Dexter‘ costars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter recently married.
